A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Aberdeen in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Sheffield. This was a result of Multiple police forces and several arrests that occurred over a weeklong investigation.

The suspect was arrested at around 8pm at the citihouse guesthouse on great western road on Saturday evening. This arrest was executed by police Scotland on behalf of south Yorkshire police.

following the arrest of the 26 year old man, a woman, 23, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting the offender.

Both arrests mark significant developments in the ongoing inquiry into the shooting, which took place on Monday, 24 November, on London Road in Sheffield.

the teenage victim still remains in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital following the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight of South Yorkshire Police described the attack as a “horrific act of violence,” highlighting the impact the incident has had on the young victim and his family. “He is 16 years of age and should have been looking forward to his future,” she said. “But now, his life has been put on pause as he remains in a critical condition.”

two teenage boys, 15 and 16, were arrested by south yorkshire police earlier on in the week as well as a 40 year old man, who was detained in suspicion of helping the attacker. all three were let go on bail while the investigation continues.

The Citihouse guesthouse, where Saturday’s arrest occurred, was evacuated after armed police responded to the scene, with at least three police vehicles and an ambulance present.

 The hotel is still closed since the incident, with all bookings unavailable as the investigation continues.

Great Western Road has been reopened after being closed to public use last night during the raid. Police activity at the site continued into Sunday morning.

“Our investigation into this shooting is continuing at pace and I want to thank everyone who has contacted us with information so far,” said Emma Knight.

Authorities say that further statements from Police Scotland regarding the arrest are expected in due course as the investigation progresses.
